Uniforms 4 Education
Despite the introduction of free primary education by the Kenyan government, a majority of parents still struggle with other associated costs of primary education including student meals, the costs of textbooks and most of all, the cost of school uniforms.
All schools require their learners to adhere to the agreed upon uniforms, failure to which they are sent back home, constantly picked on by teachers as examples of the ‘wrong uniforms’ or left to attend school with the glaring reality of a misfit.
Our key area of focus is Quality Education.
In some instances, schools have engaged suppliers and insist that parents specifically purchase uniforms from those suppliers- most of whose costs are exorbitantly high. Most parents are already struggling due to the tough economic times and given a choice between providing a meal for the family and ensuring their children have proper school uniforms, parents often settle for the former…
As a result, learners are forced to go to school with torn and nonmatching school uniforms that decrease their self-esteem and overall zeal for learning, further causing high drop-out rates, low enrollment and poor performance. Uniforms4Education strives to solve this by providing free good quality full school uniforms to needy learners, complemented with affordable quality uniforms for all other learners throughout the country.
Adopt a Child
Every year, thousands of learners in Kenya miss out on school because of resource challenges such as lack of school uniforms.
DECA, with your support, can help provide quality school uniform to these learners to get them back to school, restore their confidence and get them closer to fulfilling their full potential.
- Ksh 1500 ($15) could provide one girl with a school dress and sweater
- Ksh 2000 ($20) could provide one boy with a short, a shirt and a sweater
- Ksh 5500 ($55) could provide one boy and one girl with full school uniforms, including school shoes.
